A Personal Item
Normally, I don't post personal items on my blog, but this is too good an opportunity of praising God not to pass up. Through God-given talents, I have finally managed to finish the first draft of my Ph.D. dissertation! Once my advisor has taken a good look at it, he will be able to tell me whether I have enough material to defend or not, which in turn will go a very long way towards figuring out whether I will, indeed, graduate in December. Praise God!!!
In Christ.

Congrats, Adrian! Hope all goes well with your dissertation. What's the topic? BTW, I like the new colors on your blog. I usually read your posts through my feed reader, so it's been a while since I've actually stopped by "in person."
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Thanks for the congratulations, all. And thank you for your comment, Natalie. Long time, no see. That's quite the glamour photo you have there! Very nice.
Had to smile at yours, Lane. You know, I really do wonder sometimes who in this wide world wants me to finish more than I do. Yup. Lane and Dad. ;-)]

Yay! That is excellent news. Thank you for sharing :). I will be praying that all goes well and you are able to graduate in December. I remember how eager my own Dear Father was to get done with his PhD :-P. . .
Congratulations on two things! First of all, of course, on getting so far on your dissertation. Hooray!! And secondly on posting something personal on your blog! :-)
Thanks for the congrats, on both counts. But don't count on there being lots of personal blog items. ;-)]
I think it's official: you do not show up on the Recent Comments. You could try the experiment on your sister's blog; my guess is it won't work there, either. Rest assured, I do not have a special line in the code eliminating your screen name from consideration!
In Christ.
Congratulations on God's goodness and grace to you to complete the tasks he has called you to. Hope all goes well for your December graduation with your PhD. A great accomplishment to be sure!

God bless!
Okay, fine if you don't want to post a lot of personal blog items, be that way. But you could at least tell us all how last night went, perhaps? Did the recital go well, and were you able to record it? :)
Last night went fairly well. I only had about 20 people show up, but the acoustics in the sanctuary definitely work better with a smaller crowd. The recording went extremely well, even to the point of not really picking up the obligatory cell phone that rang during the first piece. I can hear it with the headphones, but it's very faint. The recording quality is really quite good, so I'm happy with it. I've got your copy burned, so you should look for it in the mail pretty soon. If you have an equalizer, you can make it sound even better by getting rid of the frequencies that contain the slight hiss.
In Christ.
I assume you realize that your recent comments aren't showing up under 'recent comments.' And the numbers of comments aren't changing as comments are added. e.g., this post says 9 comments, even though this should be its 11th.
But anyway, we look forward to hearing the CD!
Yes, Blogger was strange all weekend. But it's behaving better now.
I'm glad the recital went well, Adrian. That's great that you got it recorded! Thank you very much. Brother Dear said that WinAmp (or something similar. . . it's all Greek to me) should work in place of an equalizer, to work the frequencies right. I know that sounded terribly untechnical :). Oh well.

Blogger was not updating comment numbers or the Recent Comments hack for a while. As Susan said, that appears to be fixed now.
Reply to Susan.
WinAmp should do the trick just fine. Experiment with the frequencies, and you should be able to eliminate most of the hiss. Incidentally, I sent the CD yesterday, so you should get it pretty soon. Enjoy!
In Christ.
Yay! I'll look for it soon :). Thanks. I may enlist Ben's help to experiment with the frequencies, but I'm sure we can figure it out.
Shall we TIOC here?
